The PR Process
We kick off our client relationships with a comprehensive interview, or what we call the “discovery call” concerning the client’s background and goals. Our first aim is to understand who you are, where you’re going, what drives you, and what your day-to-day looks like. By doing this, we’re able to distill your company’s story into a selection of compelling narratives to present to the press. We’ve worked with clients who started selling their product when they were homeless in their car; clients who love music so much that they host private concerts in their apartment; clients whose whole lives were transformed by a literal dream– and their sudden awakening at 3 a.m. In short, we want to know every relevant detail about your story that helps us present it to the public in a way that will make them care as much as we do.
Following the discovery call, or in-person meeting, our team will brainstorm, analyzing trending topics in the news, leveraging and fine-tuning your company’s narrative to land you in the middle of the action. We typically develop multiple pitches, each meant to capture the attention of a different type of journalist or media outlet that we’re targeting. Every media “beat” has its own priorities and style of doing things, and we have enough experience with each one to optimize your chances with each.
After sending out pitches to our custom media list that we develop for each client, we connect you to the interested journalists, helping to coordinate schedules until an interview time is set. We’ll give you a short, easy-to-digest overview on the media professional, the types of narratives they’re interested in, and how to make the most of the interview for branding purposes. At the end of each month, we’ll send you a report detailing everything we’ve accomplished.
Our PR process is tried and true– and has resulted in valuable media hits for clients in Bloomberg, Forbes, Fast Company, Financial Times, TechRepublic, The Wall Street Journal, and many other highly reputable outlets, including numerous trade publications, local newspapers, magazines, TV stations, and even podcasts. As a team, we’ve helped build the excellent reputations of companies like Feed Media Group, Athena Security, Happy Returns (purchased by PayPal after working with us for several years to strengthen their brand), inDinero, Senzo, Frog Creek Partners and more. We have also worked closely with many business establishments in the North Alabama region, including Cullman Parks Recreation & Sports Tourism, Lake & Coast Real Estate Co., Southern Accents Architectural Antiques, The Lakeside Life and Southern Ghost Girls Tours & Paranormal Investigations.
